Energy Safety works on an international initiative dedicated to creating one global safety language for the energy transition.
The energy transition — with all its new energy technologies — is accelerating at an unprecedented pace. But innovation only succeeds if it is unconditionally safe.
WHY?
Because a first responder never gets a second chance.
Vision & Conceptual Framework
The Energy Safety vision & conceptual framework, “ONE GLOBAL SAFETY LANGUAGE FOR THE ENERGY TRANSITION”, aims to create a globally interoperable safety information framework that allows all stakeholders in the safety chain to access and use critical safety information in a uniform way, regardless of technology, sector or geography. This vision is not only about standardizing information, but also about enabling all stakeholders to “speak” the same safety language, so that first and second responders, operators, manufacturers, authorities and other partners can understand each other instantly and act consistently in critical situations. Within this overarching vision, the project “Standardizing Worldwide Uniform Information for First and Second Responders” is a first concrete implementation step, focusing on the promotion and expansion of ISO 17840 and related guidelines so that responders worldwide can rely on harmonized, standardized safety information for vehicles, batteries and other energy systems.
